Windows 7 comes with lots of new themes which can be accessed using Desktop Personalization window. You’ll see “Architecture, Characters, Landscapes, Nature and Scenes” themes plus extra regional theme. This regional theme depends upon your region which you selected while installing Windows 7.
To see the hidden themes open a Windows Explorer window and enter this directory path in the address bar: C:\Windows\Globalization\MCT (%windir%\Globalization)
NOTE: %windir% represents “Windows” directory present in system drive where Windows 7 is installed. Mostly C: drive.
This directory is hidden even if you are showing hidden files and directories. Enter into the address bar manually to get to it.
Once there, you should now see a bunch of subdirectories, one for each theme. The names will begin with MCT- and then include a two-letter country or region code. For example, MCT-AU. (Australia)
To use one of the hidden themes, navigate into the desired MCT directory, continue to Theme subdirectory and double click on the theme file.
