  If you want to get better control of your screen brightness on your new iMac, there is a FREE app by Splasm called: Brightness Control.

  Brightness Control gives you more control over your screen brightness and allow you to adjust it down to very low levels. It also adjust the screen brightness and colors automatically when screen brightness is reduced so that your screen does not get washed out.
