  If you install Office 2010, it installs the new OneNote icon in the taskbar. Here’s how to remove the OneNote icon from the taskbar:

  1 – Open OneNote by clicking on it from the taskbar.

  2 – From the ribbon, select File > Options.

  3 – Select Display on the left side and then on the right uncheck the box next to Place OneNote icon in the notification area of the taskbar.

  4 – Click OK to save this change.

  The OneNote icon will then be removed from the taskbar.
