  Here is the best and easiest way how to reset your Apple Mac OS X password without an OS X CD.

  Enter terminal and create a new admin account:

  • Reboot your Mac
  • Hold apple + s down after you hear the chime.
  • When you get text prompt type in the following commands to create a new admin account (Press return after each line):

  mount -uw / 
  rm /var/db/.AppleSetupDone 
  shutdown -h now

  • After rebooting you should now have a brand new admin account. After login as the new admin you can delete the old admin
