How to run programs automatically when Microsoft Windows 7 starts

  1. Go to Start Menu -> Run, type in gpedit.msc and hit enter. This should start the Group Policy Editor.
  2. In the left panel navigate to User Configuration >> Windows Settings >> Scripts (Logon/Logoff).
  3. In the right panel double click on Logon to open the Logon Properties window.
  4. In the Logon Properites windows, click on the Add….
  5. Give a Script Name in this window. Click the Browse… and you will be able to select the program you want to run at startup.
  6. You can repeat the clicks on the Add… button to add additional programs. Once you are done, click OK to save.
