Sony VGC-RC210G has two internal hard disks setup with RAID level 1 (Mirroring). In order to reinstall Windows, you need to first get the Intel RAID driver on a floppy disk. You can download the RAID driver from here (Sony’s support site).
In addition to the RAID driver, if you want to reinstall XP, make sure you have the Sony back CDs created ready. Unfortunately, the problem with copying the RAID drivers to a floppy disk is that VGC-RC210G by default doesn’t shipped with a floppy drive. Therefore you might need to get a external floppy if you want to reinstall Windows XP.
The best solution is to upgrade or reinstall to Windows 7. With Windows 7, you can copy the RAID driver to a USB flash drive first. While you are installing Windows 7, you can select “browse” for additional drivers, and Windows 7 will continue its installation with the RAID driver.
Notice, without the RAID driver, your Windows 7 installation will fail.
