Step 1 Right click on the Windows task bar, select the Task Manager and open the Processes tab. Select the “spywareprotector.exe” process and click the “End Process” button.
Step 2 Click the “Start” button, click the “Run” button, type “REGEDIT” and wait for the Registry Editor to open. Locate and delete the following registry value: HKEY_CURRENT_USERS\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run “SpywareProtector”.
Step 3 Click the “Start” button, click the “Run” button, type “CMD” and wait for the command prompt to open. Unregister two DLL files named “msvcp71.dll” and “msvcr71.dll” by running the following command on each DLL in the command prompt window: REGSVR32 /U DLL_NAME. Substitute the names of each DLL for “DLL_NAME.”
Step 4 Delete all of the files that are in the “C:\Program Files\SpywareProtector\” directory.
Step 5 Delete the “C:\Program Files\SpywareProtector” directory, the “C:\Documents and Settings\UserDirectory\Start Menu\Programs\SpywareProtector” directory and the “C:\Documents and Settings\UserDirectory\My Documents\SpywareProtector” directory. Restart your computer to complete the manual removal process.
