Step 1
Download Microsoft PowerPoint or one of the PowerPoint Viewer programs. While there is a fee associated with the full PowerPoint program, the PowerPoint Viewer programs (2003 or 2007) are free of charge (see “Additional Resources,” below). Any of these versions allow users to view PPS files created using PowerPoint 97 and later versions. Check the system requirements prior to downloading any of these programs, as they are slightly different for each.
#
Step 2
Go to the folder to which the PPS file has been saved. Right-click once on the Windows “Start” button and select the “Explore” option. Select the appropriate folder under the “Folders” section.
#
Step 3
Right-click once on the PPS file, once on “Open with” and select one of the programs discussed in Step 1. In this example, Microsoft PowerPoint is used. When using one of the PowerPoint Viewer programs, select it from the “Open with” list.

Step 4
View the slide show, which will appear on your screen. Click the mouse button once to move through the slides, and press the “Escape” (Esc) key to exit the show. There is also a button in the lower-left corner of the slide show that you can use to navigate through or end the show.
