  Try the following steps:

  1. Reset Linksys router to factory default, by pressing and hold the reset button at the rear. (See here
  2. Get the latest firmware from Linksys website and try to upgrade.
  3. IF you’re still experiencing the same issue, I would suggest you to look into the possibility to upgrade third party firmware. There are two popular choices:
  • Tomato
  • DD-WRT
  4. Make sure you read the compatibility list to see if your router is compatible.
  5. After flushing your firmware, connect to the router using an ethernet cable and setup your security.
  6. Finally, setup the security on your wireless computer.
