Step 1
How To Change Windows 7 Logon Screen Step 1, First open up Registry Editor. This can be done by typing rgedit into the run or search box. If you need more instructions on how to do so please check out my other article on how to view or change the windows registry.
Step 2
How To Change Windows 7 Logon Screen Step 2, Search through the registry to find the key “HKEY\Software\Microsoft
\Windows\CurrentVersion\Authentication\LogonUI\Background”. After you have done this, in the right area change the value of OEMBackground to 1.
Step 3
How To Change Windows 7 Logon Screen Step 3, In start or search again, type or copy %windir%\system32\oobe and hit enter. Copy your image to be the logon background here. Right click and make a new folder here called info, then another inside info called backgrounds. Place your logon image here and rename it to “backgroundDefault.jpg”. That’s it, on the next reboot you should have a custom Windows 7 logon screen. With Windows 7, and a custom logon screen, you should now be the envy of all your computer pals.
