Download and install Windows Media Player 11 (See link in Resources).
Restart the computer.
Step 2
Run Windows Media Player 11 and select “Media Sharing” from the “Library” menu. Check “Share media.”
Check-mark the “Devices” in the list presented that are to be the Media Servers for sharing music, video and photo image content with the PS3. Press the “Allow” button to save the settings. Then press “OK” to close the window.
Step 3
Leave Windows Media Player 11 running and the computer turned on.
Step 4
Turn on the PS3. Wait as the PS3 automatically detects the DLNA Media Servers from the wireless home network.
Step 5
Go to the “Music” icon on the “Home” menu and select the DLNA Media Server that is one of the devices checked on the computer. Select the music file you want to play. Exit the “Music” icon when you are done listening to the music files.
Step 6
Repeat this process for playing a video under the “Video” icon on the “Home” menu or for viewing a photo under the “Photo” icon on the “Home” menu.
