How to Make "Skype" Calls from an Old PSP?

  Instructions
  Things You’ll Need:

  * A hefty pair of cojones.
  * An old PSP
  * HomeBrew firmware v 3.71 M33-2
  * Access to wireless internet.
  * USBCAM, SoCom headSet or TalkMan USB mic
  * SIP account and server

  Step 1

  If you haven’t already upgraded your PSP-1000 (the old phat psp) firmware you should do it now. This is where your courage is tested because if you mess this upgrade up you could brick and ruin your PSP permanently! Yes, this can be complicated and challenging but the rewards are well worth it! I’ll post the link to custom firmware site at the end of the article under resources.
  This is convoluted and difficult so I will try to make another E-how on how to do this.

  Step 2

  Now that you have the 3.71 M33-2 firmware up and running and you have a usbcam or microphone to connect to your psp you are ready for the next step.
  Download Furikup from http://www.noobz.eu/joomla/component/option,com_remository/Itemid,0/func,startdown/id,27/.
  Read the Readme.html file and follow the install instructions.

  Step 3

  If you don’t really get what’s going on with the readme – that’s ok.
  I’ll try my best to explain what’s going on.
  You’ll need to install furikup into your psp by placing the MS_Root file in the Game file.
  PSP> Game> Furikup
  This will not work with the 1.5 kernal or the Dark Alex Firmware 3.10 OE-A. It will install correctly but it will not work.

  Step 4

  Now you have to have setup a SIP provider. Once you get your username and password you’ll have to open the sipcfg.ini file with your favorite word editor.
  Fill in the correct information and save.

  Step 5

  Now update your contact list the same way.

  Step 6

  See if you can load Furikup and connect to the sip server. If you can place a test call. If it works record it and put it up on youtube and ehow!

  Step 7

  Get a sip provider like Sipgate: http://www.sipgate.co.uk.
  There are several other providers that may or may not work. The only way to know is to try them and write your own e-how article or put it somewhere on the web to make someone else s life easier.
