Ever see this “the page cannot be displaye” when you tried to get to my gmail link?

Take a look in c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts
be sure that theres no other line than “127.0.0.1 Localhost”… if you’ve been infected by a spyware it may have change this file so when you type in google.com or gmail.com it redirect you over a specified ip.
I should add that you scan your pc with any anti-ware, and take the time to “repair” your network connection by right clicking your local network connection(in network connection), than select repair. It will clean the arp table as well as the DNS cache.

you can download your AV DAT files (and a good anti-spyware app – with updates) on another computer.
Copy what you need to USB stick or CD and load them on this other computer.
Virus apps are not all that smart – the collective knowledge at this site has defeated everyone of them — many times.
